Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. Our beautiful lake is a gravel-based, forty-seven acre, spring-fed body of water. This quiet lake only allows boats without motors like canoes and kayaks. About 1/2 mile around the bend, within walking distance, is a 42 acre park. It is a dedicated Illinois Preserve with nature trails through serene wooded ravines. Winter has its own special appeal. When the lake freezes over, the ice is alive with hockey games, figure skaters, cross-country skiers, ice fishing and warm bon fires. This is the perfect setting for days of reflection, solitude and time away. Retreats vary in length: a few hours, a day, an overnight or longer. Just let us know how we can best provide the experience your soul needs. We invite you to come sit by the still waters, spend time in prayer or contemplation, journal, read, sleep or simply rest and be silent.
